Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J. & E. NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT.," circa 1855, cylindrical jar with sloped shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a plant bearing two large blossoms. Excellent color. Chip to one handle. Shallow chip on top of rim. Two other minor rim chips. One minor chip to interior of rim where a lid would rest.
