Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "GEO. MACINTOSH / 857, 859 8TH AVE, / N.Y.," circa 1880, cylindrical jar with sloped shoulder, tall collar, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt foliate design. Rim chips. Thin cracks in underside, one of which extending 6" up front of jar. Short line and two small nicks in one handle. Small in-the-making nick to surface. Minor line of exfoliation to front above decoration. H 13 1/2".
