Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Elaborate Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "W.H. FARRAR & CO. / GEDDES, NY," circa 1860, cylindrical jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with a large slip-trailed bird with solid wing and heavily-dashed body, perched atop a looping line and flanked by two leaves. A bold and crisp example of the popular Farrar bird motif. Desirable small-sized jug. Small lamp wire hole drilled at base on reverse. Minor nick on top of spout. H 11 3/8".
