One-and-a-Half-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Crock, Stamped "J.M. HICKERSON / STRASBURG, VA," circa 1880, cylindrical crock with squared rim, decorated with a cobalt sweeping swag design around the shoulder. Crack in underside, forming a 4 1/2" Y at base. Chips and wear to rim and shoulder molding. Black staining to surface. H 10 1/4".
