Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "OTTMAN BRO'S / & CO.. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.," circa 1875, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt design of a large crested bird perched on a leaf. Several spidering lines to surface, which do not appear to extend through to the interior. 2 1/4" rim chip to reverse. Other, much smaller rim chips. Chipping to interior of rim, including a 7/8" chip. Handle chip. Faint lines to underside, which do not extend through to interior. H 10 3/4".
