One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "H.C. SMITH / ALEXA / D.C.," circa 1835, narrow, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-squared rim, decorated completely around with a series of brushed cobalt tulips. Two base chips, measuring 1" and 3/4", along with other much smaller base chips. The "ALEXA / D.C." portion of the maker's mark is lightly impressed. H 10 1/2".
