Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Freehand Decoration, Stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES / GREENSBORO, PA," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, decorated with freehand vining around the shoulder, stripes at the base and shoulder, and a cobalt script "2" flanked by dashes at the base. Curving Hamilton & Jones maker's stenciling at the midsection surrounding three stenciled leaves or flowers. 1/2" lamp hole drilled in underside. Small stone ping on right side of jar. H 11 3/4".
