Stoneware Wax Sealer with Stenciled Shield Decoration, Stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES / GREENSBORO, PA," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with sloped shoulder and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a large striped shield flanked by leaves surrounding the name of the potting firm "HAMILTON & JONES". Freehand stripes above and below stenciling. A well-decorated of Greensboro stoneware. Near mint condition with a tiny nick off inner rim. H 10 1/2".
