Rare Stoneware "BOSTON R BEER" Bottle, Stamped "COLE & CO.," Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1850, with thick rounded spout, impressed in large block letters on one side "BOSTON," and on the reverse "R BEER," with cobalt-highlighted letters. Under "R BEER," the business name "COLE & CO." is impressed. A difficult-to-find Baltimore stoneware bottle. A few small base chips and a 1" vertical line at base. Wear to edge below shoulder. Group of small spout chips. H 9 3/4".
