Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird on Stump Decoration, Stamped "NEW YORK / STONEWARE CO.," circa 1865, cobalt-decorated with a large, long-tailed bird perched on a stump surrounded by shrubs. Some fry to cobalt. 2 1/2" hairline to left of handle. Two small base chips. A few tiny chips to interior of spout. H 14".
