Exceptional Five-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Elaborate Flowering Urn Decoration, Stamped "NEW YORK STONEWARE CO. / FT. EDWARD, N.Y.," circa 1875, ovoid churn with tooled shoulder, rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with an artistically-slip-trailed design of an open-handled urn featuring a pedestal base and heavily-shaded shoulder, overflowing with flowers and leaves. Spots and various abstract details to floral decoration. Excellent size to decoration with great color. A few chips to inner ledge where a lid would rest. Otherwise excellent condition.
