Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar with Pittsburgh, PA Advertising, Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1880, wide, cylindrical jar with flange at shoulder fashioned with four pairs of original piercings, the front featuring the stenciled advertising, "ORCHARD / PRESERVING Co. / PITTSBURGH. PA." A 2" rim chip and 1" rim chip. Some wear to flange. Remnants of old metal wire incised two of the pairs of piercings. Other minor surface wear. H 6" ; W 7".
