One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Bowl with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "SIPE, NICHOLS & CO. / Williamsport. Pa.," circa 1875, with rounded sides and flattened rim, brush-decorated with a horizontal stem bearing a carrot-shaped blossom. Brushed cobalt highlight to maker's mark and capacity mark. A 3/4" rim chip on side of bowl. In-the-firing horizontal surface lines at base on side of bowl, not visible on interior. Scratches to Albany slip on interior. A few minor in-the-firing pings to interior. Some staining, including a drip from rim on reverse. A few minor base chips. H 5 3/4" ; Diam. 11 3/8".
