Glazed Redware Figure of a Dog on Base, PA origin, possibly Adams County, circa 1850-1880, hand-modeled figure of a seated dog on oval base with incised details to head, ears, haunches, and tail, its collar formed from a series of impressed circles. Base with impressed circular border and impressed floral decoration at center. Dog decorated with splashed manganese over a mottled olive-and-orange ground, the entire surface covered in a clear lead glaze. Figure reglued to base with loss to tail. Minor wear to one ear and a minuscule fleck of glaze loss to one haunch. A 1 1/4" base chip or lime ping, primarily visible on underside. An additional small base chip. L 3 1/4" ; H 4 1/4".
