One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Butterfly Decoration, attributed to the Norton Family, Bennington, VT, circa 1835, highly-ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, brush-decorated with a butterfly on the front. Excellent condition with some staining and typical in-the-firing contact marks to surface. Old tape residue to handle, unrelated to any sort of damage. H 11 1/4".
