Half-Gallon Vertical-Handled Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Decoration, Manhattan, NY origin, circa 1795, ovoid jar with footed base, tooled shoulder, and applied vertical handles, decorated with haphazard cobalt brushwork to the shoulder and handle terminals, including appealing drips and runs to the sides. Provenance: Warren F. Hartmann Collection. Small glazed-over base chips. A small rim chip. A short, faint hairline to interior of rim. H 7 1/4".
