Scarce Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar with Stenciled "1876" Date, Stenciled "A.P. DONAGHHO / PARKERSBURG, W. Va," 1876, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, featuring diagonal A.P. Donaghho maker's stenciling on the front and a stenciled Centennial date on the reverse. Includes tin lid. Provenance: From a fifty-year West Virginia collection. Interior of rim with a 1 1/4" flake and minor nicks. Wear to inner wax sealer rim. H 9 1/4".
