One-Gallon Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "T.F. REPPERT. / SUCCESSOR / TO / J. HAMILTON & CO. / GREENSBORO.PA.," circa 1880, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring desirable T.F. Reppert "SUCCESSOR TO" maker's stenciling within a stenciled shield flanked by small floral motifs. Freehand stripes decoration to shoulder and base. Provenance: From a fifty-year West Virginia collection. Excellent condition with some very minor staining. H 10 1/4".
