Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, WV origin, circa 1875, a three-gallon bullet-shaped jug with stenciled rose and wheat motifs, stenciled "Wilkinson & Fleming. / Shinnston . W. VA.;" paired with a two-gallon semi-ovoid jar with stenciled rose motif, stenciled "T.D. HARDEN / PALATINE, W. VA." Jug's handle broken into three pieces and reglued with some filler along breaks and coloring to cobalt on upper terminal. Jug also with significant crazing to reverse and sides and an in-the-firing fissure to underside. Jar with some wear to cobalt and traces of old paint to surface, a 3" in-the-firing surface crack from rim on interior, an in-the-firing iron ping to interior, and a large, tight spider line to surface of reverse and side.
