Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Horse Decoration, Westerwald, Germany origin, 19th century, highly-ovoid jug with tall spout, brush-decorated with a rearing horse atop a curved vine. Stylized foliate motifs to the shoulder. Cobalt highlights to spout and slip-trailed lines below handle. Inscribed "i" below handle. Essentially as-made condition with a 3" in-the-firing Y-shaped line at base on front and other short in-the-firing lines at base. H 14 1/2".
