One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "B.C. MILBURN / ALEXA," Alexandria, VA origin, circa 1850, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and arched tab handles, brush-decorated with a flowering plant ascending the front and three floral devices at the shoulder on the reverse. A 7/8" chip to one handle. A 1/2" chip to opposite handle. A few small rim chips. A thin Y-shaped crack across underside, forming a curving crack extending from base to shoulder on reverse. H 9 1/2".
