Very Rare One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug-Form Cooler with "Hop Beer" Advertising, NJ or NY State origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jug form with semi-rounded spout and tapering circular bunghole, the front featuring the slip-trailed cobalt advertising, "J Hindells / Hop / Beer." Exceptional form and size for a script piece. A vertical 3" in-the-firing contact mark to jug's front. Some staining to surface. Piece of old metal spigot affixed in bunghole. H 12 3/4".
