Fine One-Quart Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Clover Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1875, ovoid form with footed base, tooled collar, and flaring rim, brush-decorated with a two-stemmed clover plant motif ascending the front. Collar decorated with four brushed clovers. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Exceptional size, strong color, and heavy coverage of the decoration over the vessel's front. Restoration to cracks(?) in underside, including restoration to an approximately 1 1/4" line ascending base on reverse. An unrestored 7/8" line to interior of rim, barely visible on exterior. A small in-the-firing iron ping to left of decoration. H 6 7/8".
