Monumental Seven-Gallon Stoneware Water Cooler with Exuberant Floral Decoration, Baltimore, circa 1840, lavishly decorated with a vivid floral design of numerous leafy stems blooming with flowers and grapes. The decoration continues around the sides of the vessel, with flower blossoms growing from the stems on the left, and grapes growing from the stems on the right. Additional, horizontal floral decoration runs from handle to handle on the reverse, as well as along the cooler"s shoulder. Unusual decoration and large size. Superior color. Near Mint Condition, with only a few very minor rim knicks. Height 19 1/2".
