Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, Northeastern U.S. origin, second half 19th century, a two-gallon cylindrical crock with abstract scrolled foliate motif, stamped "SEYMOUR & BOSWORTH / HARTFORD.CONN," circa 1871-1890; paired with a two-gallon jar with large bird-on-leaf-motif, NY State origin, circa 1875. Floral crock with a small chip to one handle and water glass staining to interior and exterior. Bird jar with a thin 4 1/2" crack from rim on reverse, a 1 3/4" crack from rim on front, a 1 1/2" in-the-firing surface line on interior of rim (not visible on exterior), a 2 3/4" fork-shaped surface at line below one handle, a 5 1 1/4" crack on underside extending 4 1/4" up front of jar, minor chipping to interior of rim, and some staining. H (of taller) 11 3/4".
