One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Clover Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1880, ovoid pitcher with flared collar, brush-decorated with a two-stemmed clover plant extending up the front. Clover blossom decoration to collar. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Essentially as-made condition with an in-the-firing contact mark with surface chip near base on side of pitcher and other, minor surface flaws. H 11 7/8".
