Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Spittoon, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1875, cylindrical, concave form with footed base, recessed opening in top, and carved oblong opening at shoulder, brush-decorated with three large leaves around the body and strokes around one opening. A glazed-over base chip with a top-to-bottom hairline ascending from it. Otherwise excellent condition. H 4 1/4" ; Diam. 7 1/2".
