Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / NEW-YORK," Manhattan, NY origin, circa 1820, highly-ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, brush-decorated with three stylized drapes at the shoulder and cobalt highlight to the upper handle terminals. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with some typical in-the-firing surface flaws and a small chip to underside at edge. H 14 1/2".
