Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "WHITES UTICA," NY State origin, circa 1865, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with a flowering plant extending up the front. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Two base flakes, measuring 1 1/2" and 3/4". Chips to one handle. Small chips to opposite handle. A minor worn spot to interior of rim. Light staining to surface. A small in-the-firing iron ping to reverse. H 11 1/8".
