Unusual Glazed Redware Vase, attributed to the John Parker Pottery, Greenwood Township, Columbia County, PA, circa 1853-1876, highly-ovoid form with footed base and narrow mouth, covered in a mottled lead-and-manganese glaze featuring red, brown, and faint green hues. Provenance: Underside includes hand-written note on paper, "Bought from / grandaughter of John Parker / P 14.8." Large base chips. Spout with wear and a minor flake. A small piece of adhered in-the-firing clay near base. H 5 1/2".
