Two-Gallon Iron-Decorated Stoneware Jug with Impressed Eagle Motif, Stamped "CHARLESTOWN," attributed to Frederick Carpenter, Charlestown, MA, circa 1812-1827, ovoid jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with impressed design of a spread-winged eagle perched atop a cannon with cannonballs. Base decorated with dipped iron-oxide decoration. Excellent condition with a minor spot of wear to reverse and a glazed-over base chip. H 14 1/2".
