One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "WINE," attributed to Branch Green, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1820, highly-ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, the shoulder decorated with a freehand cobalt stripe over the impressed word, "WINE." Provenance: From a recently-surfaced collection. In-the-firing flaws to surface, including blistered spots. Light wear to midsection. A minor spout chip. H 11".
