Two-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Henry H. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1835, ovoid pitcher with footed base and short collar, decorated around the body with an undulating leafy stem bearing fan-shaped flowers, extending under the base of the handle. Horizontal floral decoration to collar. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Some exfoliation to surface. A minor, glazed-over ping to far edge of spout. A miniscule nick to spout. A thin 3 1/2" crack from rim on reverse. A 3/4" in-the-firing iron ping to base on reverse. H 14".
