Fine Two-Gallon Open-Handled Stoneware Jar with Impressed Fish Decoration, Jonathan Fenton, Boston, MA, late 18th century, stylishly-potted jar with ovoid midsection, narrow opening, and open loop handles, the rim and shoulder accented with tooled lines. Decorated on the front and reverse with a large impressed and cobalt-highlighted design of a fish. Cobalt highlights to the handle terminals. Small rim chips. Base chips. A thin 6" inverted Y-shaped crack on left side at base. H 14".
