Two Brown Brothers, Huntington, Long Island, New York Stoneware Churns with Cobalt Floral Decoration, circa 1870-1885, both of ovoid form with cobalt floral decoration, a three-gallon example, stamped "BROWN BROTHER , / HUNTINGTON, / L.I." and a five-gallon example, stamped "BROWN BROTHERS, / HUNTINGTON, L.I.". Provenance: Donald Matties Collection. Three-gallon example with significant restoration, not affecting decoration. Five-gallon example with restoration, not affecting decoration, as well some light unrestored surface exfoliation, and a shallow in-the-firing flake to interior of rim.
