Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "BROWN BROTHERS, / HUNTINGTON, L.I.", New York State origin, circa 1885-1905, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with two brushed tulips above a series of swags. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Provenance: Donald Matties Collection. Excellent condition with some light fry to cobalt and a a minor base chip.
