Large-Sized Redware Figure of a Standing Dog, Pennsylvania origin, circa 1850-1880, hand-modeled figure of a standing dog with poodle-cut, incised details to face, and impressed collar, set on a rectangular base with canted corners. Unusual impressed design of a locket with floral motif hanging from the dog's neck. Surface covered in a clear lead glaze. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, purchased by the consignor many years ago. Losses to ears. A small flake to underside of base at edge and some minor base nicks. H 6" ; L 6 1/2".
