Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Flying Bird Decoration, Stamped "SEYMOUR & BOSWORTH / HARTFORD, CONN," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a diving bird with crest and well-detailed, spread wings. Some flakes to shoulder on front and side. Crack in end of one handle. Glazed-over chipping to rim on reverse. Some typical minor wear to inner rim where a lid would rest.
