Two Pieces of Midwestern Stoneware, third quarter 19th century, a two-gallon jar with cobalt tulip decoration, paired with a one-gallon crock with cobalt swag decoration and slightly-dome, salt-glazed lid. Lid is of Midwestern manufacture, but may not be original to the crock. Jar with 6 1/4" in-the-firing separation on interior of rim, not visible on exterior, a thin 3 1/2" crack from rim on reverse, wear to inner rim where lid would rest, a minor rim chip, and minor handle wear. Crock with 1" handle chip, minor wear to shoulder molding, a 1" surface line at base, and a 1/2" surface line at base. Lid with edge chips.
