Unusual Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Flowerpot, Northeastern U.S. origin, 19th century, tapered flowerpot with coved rim molding and attached saucer, decorated completely around the body with a brushed cobalt foliate design. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, from a long-term Midwestern collection. A few chips to saucer. Inverted U-shaped line in rim of saucer. Large, tight crack on one side, in the form of a reversed letter "K", partially visible on interior. A minor chip to interior of rim. H 7 3/4" ; Diameter 9".
