Exceptional Stoneware Hotel Spittoon with Cobalt Inscription "ELM PARK HOTEL," Northeastern U.S. origin, second half 19th century, large-sized stoneware spittoon with footed base, decorated with the oversized block letter inscription "ELM PARK HOTEL." around the vessel's body. Heavy cobalt spot decoration on the interior of the letters. Cobalt stripe at base. Excellent size and inscription. 4" x 1 1/8" flake off underside at edge. Small in-the-firing flake to top surface. H 7 1/8" ; Diameter 12".
