Unusual Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Churn, German origin, second half 19th or first half 20th century, narrow, cylindrical churn with tooled banding and molded handles, decorated with brushed floral and foliate designs on the front and reverse, along with cobalt banding throughout. Impressed on side "12 Lt.". Includes original cobalt-banded lid and wooden dasher. Approximately 14" inverted Y-shaped crack on side. Large chip to one handle. 5 1/2" surface line below rim, not visible on interior. Some faint surface lines at base, not visible on interior. Lid with broken and reglued section, includin two small pieces missing. H (including lid) 24 1/2".
