Glazed Redware Lidded Jar, Galena, IL origin, second half 19th century, nicely-potted cylindrical jar with footed base, tooled shoulder, and tall rounded rim, the surface covered in a lead glaze over a colorful pale green ground with orange spots. Includes original lid with tooled border and stepped finial, the surface covered in a lead glaze over a pumpkin-colored ground. Smooth heavy glaze wear to rim. Wear to interior of rim area, including a shallow 1 1/4" flake to interior where the lid would rest. Some abrasions to glazed surface. Base chip. Glaze flakes to interior. 2 1/4" loss to edge of lid and several other chips to edge of lid. H (excluding lid) 12 1/4".
