Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug, Stenciled "CHINA PALACE / C.G. TAYLOR / PETERSBURG, VA," West Virginia origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jug with short spout, decorated with the stenciled block-letter inscription "CHINA PALACE / C.G. TAYLOR / PETERSBURG. VA". Decorated above with a large script "2" and a wavy stripe. A good example of Virginia advertising stoneware. Excellent condition with a shallow base chip.
