Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Stamped "EDMANDS & CO.," Charlestown, MA origin, circa 1860, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of leafy vines in a heart-like form. Surface lines on underside, including one that extends 1" onto base, which are not visible on interior. Faint 2 1/2" Y-shaped surface line to shoulder, not visible on interior. Small handle chip. 1 3/8" rim chip. Small chips on interior of rim. In-the-firing 2 3/4" separation line on interior of rim, not visible on exterior.
