Six-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Midwestern origin, third quarter 19th century, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed tulip plant bearing two large blossoms below a freehand number "6". Some small rim chips. Wear to surface to right of decoration. 5" Y-shaped surface line to right of decoration. Some light wear to handle. A glazed-over 2" surface line at base, continuing 1 3/4" onto underside, not visible on the interior.
