Large-Sized Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Samuel Frayser, Henrico County, VA, circa 1830, approximately four to five gallon, ovoid jar with heavy tooled shoulder, concave rim molding, and rounded lug handles, decorated on the front and back with a leafy stem bearing a large, heavily-brushed flower blossom with circular center. Significant restoration throughout, including touch-up to significant amount of decoration on one side, and touch-up along top edge and left side of decoration on opposite side. Restoration includes much of rim.
