One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1830, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder, tooled rim, and thin rim, decorated with a brushed clover plant on the front and back. This design is unusual for the time period, and can be viewed as an early ancestor of the later ubiquitous clover motifs. Cracks at base, continuing onto underside. 2 1/2" hairline from rim.
