Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Spittoon, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1840, with flared base, rounded edge, and carved circular hole at shoulder, decorated with a brushed cobalt swag and hanging flower design around the body and a cobalt circle around the opening at shoulder. Minor wear to circular opening at shoulder. A few minor chips to edge on underside. Diameter 8 1/4".
