Rare Two-Gallon Loop-Handled Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1815-1825, exceptional early form with rounded foot, heavily-tooled shoulder, squared rim and open loop handles. Decorated on the front and back with large flowering vines extending from the handles. Arching cobalt line under each handle. Excellent form, color, and decoration. Probably an early product of Baltimore's Parr family. One handle restored. Hairline extending length of underside and several inches up one side of jar under one handle, as well as onto base on other side of jar.
